Being a part of a writer’s group

Being a part of a writer’s group

What makes a great writer’s group?

Having a desire and a common goal to become better writers.

Why would you want to be a part of an active writer’s group?

Why do people continue to go to the meetings?

•    Face-to-face encouragement for every step of our writing journey
•    Face-to-face support for rejections, bad scores from contests, and the awful feeling of failure that creeps into our minds
•    Inspiring moments that offer food for our writing minds
•    Information sharing—I’ve not attended one meeting that I didn’t learn from my fellow writers
•    Feedback on questions we have, on the writings we share, ideas that we have, and plans for the future
•    Making us accountable for our writing goals for getting down those word counts, entering contests, sending our work out to literary agents and publishers
•    Learning to give and take criticism and the need for it

What makes our group exceptional?

We share a love for a Savior who died so that we could have hope of one day joining Him and Our Father in Heaven.

Come join us.

The ACFW AR group is one of the best places to get encouragement in our craft, but it is also a places to honest feedback (not just a pat on the back) on your writing. I think I appreciate that the most about our group.

A very high compliment for our group! Thanks Lisa 🙂
