Jenny Carlisle

Jenny Carlisle

Jenny was raised with a younger sister in  the small college town of Pittsburg, Kansas, by her divorced mother and a loving Christian community. She visited once a year with her daddy, who was a Kansas Highway Patrolman in Wichita. This upbringing contributed to her fiction writing as she filled the empty spaces by reading  lots of stories, and writing some of her own.

After moving to Arkansas with her new step-family as a senior in high school, she married her best friend, James and raised three wonderful children. The necessity of holding down a job with the State of Arkansas put her writing time in the background.

Along the way, she found encouragement with the Fiction Writers of Central Arkansas, which led to an annual conference with the Ozark Creative Writers in Eureka Springs. There, she met  the husband and wife team of Hannah Alexander, and their friend and editor Barbara Warren, who introduced her to the world of Christian Fiction.

Now, after over thirty years with the State, she is looking forward to retirement, and a closer, less stressful job. The idea is that this will provide time to really bring her fiction to the forefront, and launch her on the road to a successful career as a published author. Meanwhile, she writes a general interest column for baby-boomers in the free magazine, Ouachita Life, which can be found at your favorite feed store or community center in the southwest quadrant of the most beautiful state in our country. (Arkansas, of course!)

Above all- her mission: to use the gift of stringing words together to glorify God, hopefully encouraging and edifying others along the way.
